Earnest Money Deposits
Realtypath does not maintain a trust account for earnest money. When we represent the buyer, all earnest money must be submitted to a Title Company or the cooperating brokerage for holding.
1. Ensure Buyer and Seller sign the “Deposit of Earnest Money with Title Insurance Addendum”
2. Buyer must deposit Earnest Money at the Title Company within 4 calendar days (per REPC).
3. Obtain a receipt of earnest money from the Title Company and load it into Skyslope.
4. The listing agent is also responsible for confirming earnest money is deposited to ensure the contract remains valid. Therefore, we also require the listing agent to obtain and submit a copy of the earnest money deposit receipt.
